Dear "JIM";

I have read all of your posts with care. I do understand why you might feel that people on the RSQUBF site might sound a bit harsh. But the truth that they have all experienced while living the UBF lifestyle became very harsh!

The UBF lifestyle does not ever begin that way. It starts out as loving with receiving lots of attention from the "shepherd" and Bible study....

Then, as time progresses,the "sheep" is challenged to "show their faith" and devote more and more time away from their original friends and family members to spend more time within the structure of UBF activities. The "sheep" is praised for thier "sacrifice" of leaving the "worldly ways" behind to "follow God".

The trouble here is that the "sheep" begins to equate "following God" with FOLLOWING UBF. The "sheep" begins to equate leaving the "worldly ways behind" with cutting off all contact with family members (unless they are also in UBF--sometimes even if they are in UBF).

Eventually, the "sheep" is given direction without any real experience or training to "feed sheep". The shepherds are arrogant enough to promote this direction, even though the "sheep" has no spiritual development or experience. It is easy to become pushed in this direction, when idealism has taken over for the mature logic. Well that is how it all starts. The end result has mostly been disaster for hundreds (more like thousands, over the years.).

"JIM", I am very curious to ask you this question. What do you determine is "false" claims by former UBF members? Since you have only been attending UBF for the past 6 months (as you say), please tell me what you are having trouble accepting SPECIFICALLY from this site.

Perhaps, if you can address which claims you feel are not true, I might be able to help clarify those issues for you.

I do not think our views are circular. I do however think that the Holy Spirit is speaking to you through this site, and more through your own experience. You are being shown already in subtle ways that UBF members serve "mission" to please others. Even though you have only heard that statement from 1 person, that is the way it is for most members. It is just not spoken out loud.

Please keep writing to me.

Kind Regards.

Desiree S. Ray
