Hello Brain,

Thank you for answering my post.

The only point I am trying to make is that in Acts 5:29 God's use of the word "men" means - all mankind; or human race. This would exclude your arguement about this verse only applying to "certain situations" or that it is "not a universal rule that disallows obedience to authorities and leaders." Because God meant "all mankind" we are to obey God over any man, believer or non-believer. We need to obey God in every situation, even if our Pastors tell us differently.

>Are you saying Christians should obey God only, and
>must never obey a man or other authorities God
>established? You are straying from what the Bible
>says:

We can only serve one Master. We cannot obey God and man at the same time. We submit to and obey our leaders only because God tells us too, when we do this, we are actually obeying God and not man. But submitting to and obeying our leaders doesn't mean they can tell us to do anything. If we are told to do something by a church leader and we know for sure it is not God's will for our life, then we are in no way obligated to obey the leader. Church leaders are very limited in what they can tell us to do. They cannot tell us who to marry or where to live.

Sincerely
Bob
