My heart left UBF in December of 2000. My body and family left in December of 2001.

Similar for me. The issues about Samuel Lee and the behavior of Kaleb Hong and Abraham Lee in Germany could not be overlooked in the year 2000. In my 2001 New Year's testimony I declared that UBF reform as one of my prayer topics and I decided to stay in UBF at least one year to see if reform was possible. However, Kaleb Hongs (and his wife's) strong rejection of reform, attempts to manipulate me and others, twisted teachings and propaganda created such a negative and spiritually unhealthy environment that my wife and I strongly felt we could not stay any longer without compromising our conscience. Independent of each other, we felt pushed by the Holy Spirit to leave immediately, on the same day. We attended one more Sunday service, and at the members meeting after the service we declared we could not stay any longer. This was in April 2001. Shortly afterwards, the testimony of Andreas become public and we knew it had been the right decision. Looking back, I think it was so naive to believe that the UBF leaders would ever repent or change. But at that time, we had some trust they were Christians and thus they would be able to see and respond to the truth. It was an illusion. They are following I-don't-know-whom, but not Jesus.
