You land lightly, glancing over your shoulder to watch the swirl of surreal light and static vanish without a trace. The Portal is gone. You are here, and you are not going back any time soon. With a tiny shiver of apprehension, you look around. The land seems dangerously alive, almost quivering with energy, compared to the hot, dry feeling of Terole. Soft, damp soil is nearly black underfoot, and lush, waving foliage is shades of green, grey, and blue around you. Overhead is a sky of pastel lavender, with deep violet-grey clouds, indicating a possible storm soon. The orange sun is surrounded in a misty silver haze, and even though it's bright day, you can see a dim grey image of the larger of two moons. Small feline Chitters ramble fearlessly by, once in a while brushing against your legs and purring, and reptilian Elei blink from branches or rocks, their blazingly bright hides seeming incongruous in this place. Those are the only two harmless creatures within sight, for just a few trees away is a sleeping mob of Clatts, dangerous blood-sucking fliers that awaken at the slightest sound or movement. It's a blessing your arrival hasn't aroused them already, for such a swarm can kill even the deadliest fighter. Also in the trees are unseen predators, almost surely sentient, and hostile to foreigners entering their marked and viciously defended territory and home. The thick foliage around you could conceal any number of terrestrial hunters, and the skies... who knows what rules the air above you? Three things are certain - you have reached Lavana. You have landed on Penyns, one of the three great continents. And this continent is renowned for absolute savagery.

Good luck. You'll need it.
