To really learn something, I will go to someone objective.

I have heard this kind of ranting and raving against EVERY President I have lived through, with only Gerald Ford getting noticeably less, but then he only had 29 months in office. Oh, sure, Bush gets it somewhat worse than the others. But I have concluded that a truly objective view of each Presidency does not develop until at least fifteen years after they have left office, and maybe even longer.

I have no idea whether or not this is true. It may not be. But I have also looked for refutations of this, and have not found any that deal with the specifics of the charges. I would expect to find at least some.

By the way, you are aware that if we had stayed in Afghanistan (which I agree with) we would inevitably have killed some innocent people, but I guess that's not as bad as waterboarding or sleep depriving guilty people. obitchecker Mon, May 11, 2009 9:33:18
