Subject: Looking in the Libally
In reply to: Mayria al'Merrian 's message, "In the Library" on 05:34:14 09/21/00 Thu

Receiving no satisfactory answer, Arienne sighed and chose an aisle to wander down. All of these books seemed to be on the history of Cairhien...the whole aisle! Arienne was impressed, but couldn't help wondering why the city needed so many books on the subject. It's not as if there were twenty variations on history!

Choosing a book at random, Arienne opened it and browsed through. She noticed that one House seemed prominent throughout most of Cairhien's history - even before, if this book were to be believed. Members of this house had been key players in most of the major vitories and other historical events.

Returning that book to the shelf, Arienne chose another random book. Flicking through and skimming the pages, she realised that it covered most of the same history as the first book. However, as Arienne began to read it a little closer, she realised that the only mention of the great House of the previous book was a derogatory one. Instead, a different House was shown to be dominant.

Arienne finally understood why there were so many books on the topic. There were numerous versions of Cairhien History!
