Sandra, you are so right. Never administer a vaginal or rectal treatment to a minor without the parent's consent or participation. If we get her to where she wants a high enema it will be with mom's complete knowledge and cooperation. The manufacturers of oral laxatives and disposable Fleet enemas almost managed to make mom's home enema treatments go extinct but they are making a comeback. Convinced most Doctor's that mom's home enema was child abuse. Now we have generation's of children that hold in their poop, become encopric. AV's mom treated his holding with enemas as she should have. My mom's Dr. had her treat my holding with mag. citrate and diapers. Six years old! Kept home from school in diapers having runny poops for several days with oral laxatives!

Joyce

So I splurged and bought a high quality clear vinyl larger enema bag and a soft deep insertion nozzle. Just got it and the nozzle is super pliable. A little longer than the douche nozzle I've always had. Going to do an enema this afternoon to try it out as far as insertion past the rectum cavity. It instructs to have some lubrication in the rectum not just on the nozzle and then gently insert while rotating the nozzle back and forth 10 to 20 degrees. Little fellow didn't have to have his suppository Sunday last because he was able to poop on his own before his enema. Yes he is getting more upset and more defiant and threatening violence on me not less with each Sunday's enema. I don't think he is going to be one of those kids that easily grows in to enjoying his enema. The deep nozzle came just in time, he thought it wise to expel his enema on me while I'm giving it to him. I put him on the toilet for about a half hour while I cleaned myself up, refilled his bag and we did it all over again. He is not interested in any atta boy or good job or here's a hug I love you after he is done. It's pajamas on, in bed and off to sleep, just wants to be left alone. Oh well, it's just once a week. Come Monday or Tuesday he loves me again, is happy. Still doesn't care for school. He is a mama's boy all the way.

Shelly,

Were you able to try your new bag and nozzle? Is the nozzle straight or does it have some curvature to it? Were you able to get it all the way in? How did it feel? Are you planning to use it for Junior's next enema? If you can get it all the way into him without forcing it you should be able to use a significantly smaller volume (with less chance of an "accident" as the enema goes into him) and still get good results with less discomfort.

Hope all goes well!
