Wow, this brings us back around full circle to the reason for Christmas! Thanks once again my dear, believes he's an athiest, but really is not one, friend!
Christmas is a a celebration of the Truth that appeared to some shepherds in the middle east a little over 2030 years ago! His existance was proof that had been foretold of for centuries and was now seen in the flesh along with some angels who came to tell the shepherds that eveything was gonna be alright. Just believe it and keep doing what you know is right, take care of the sheep etc...it was the wonder and the glorious good news of it all that made them want to come and worship Him! The first worshippers of Jesus were born! They worshipped a king who would rule over them in love because he came from the God who is Love!
But, there was a purpose for His coming to earth, which was also foretold of by the prophets down through the ages, and that purpose was to die on a cross....what? this makes no sense! What kind of God was this that would send His only Son to die on a cross for the sins of all mankind? It was a perfect plan to replace the one where nobody had to die. You see, Adam and Eve had it made in the garden; they got to fellowship with God in the cool of the day; just them and God; walking and talking and felowshipping with the One who created Eden for them! They too would never have to die...But because of a little side trip to the Tree of the knowledge of good and evil while God wasn't looking they lost their place...But their place was restored when Christ came to reconcile man with God. So, now, as your new atheist friend says we can enjoy all these things on earth that God has created for us, including pizza, because of this God that we don't have to even believe in...unless....you want what they had at the beginning, which was to live forever with God!!???
Do you want this? yes or no? if no. then you can choose sin and still enjoy everything except the one thing that God alone can promise you, eternal life with Him.
Or you can choose, yes, and have it all!!!! except for the sin part...you must say goodbye to sin...it is the one thing we must sacrifice for the eternal reward.
the choice is yours!
