Shapeshifter's Lair
Less of a lair and more of a city, it is the home of the Shapeshifters. It is underground, a vertible warren of caves and caverns that can house up to hundreds of Shapeshifters. The thresholds and doorways are large enough to accomodate a shapeshifter in almost any shape. Each may claim a cave or cavern for their own.
Shapeshifters: If you wish to make yourself a 'room,' you need to have two or more people that are willing to share it, so we don't have a ton of boards with just one person. Post the link here and it will be added.
Points for additional shapes will be awarded by me or a helper I appoint, for excellent posting or playing skills. Enjoy!

Ala'rena allows a sigh to escape her lips from rather cramped position. She was bit more than upset with how the hunt had gone. She would not go out to hunt again, at least not until there was actually prey. It did no good to go halfway through a workout routine, one needed a full workout for a supreme body.
With smooth ease, Ala'rena drops herself off from her own little balcony and heads back for the academy. She would relax and train, maybe go out and hunt, but she would not bother with going every full moon. It was beginning to get ridiculous how there was nothing that ever came out. Ala leaves the Lair...

{Winging her way silently into the expansive cavern, the ebony corvine spirals slowly upward, landing with a click of talons upon her usual high, rock shelf perch. The bird cocks her head slightly, glancing down with a single ocellus eye at the few new shifters and the armored human. This slayer she had not yet seen.. good news, for that would mean the academy was growing..and the blue district would become relatively safer to it's citizens.
Swaggering easily to the hind of the shelf, she turns and shifts, a placid faced woman seated neatly in it's place. In human form she took up evenly half the space of the narrow shelf; cool, carefully unreadable eyes glancing almost absently down from behind her shadowed cowl.}

It had come as a shock to her that there had been no attacks on the full moon, it was something that she had been expecting. Seems she had wrong. But still, better safe than sorry. Y'Lara sighs in her worlf form and gets up, meandering off towards her cave.

Her eyes rounded to the human shape but the colour stayed the same. The face transformed from a tigers to a female human, her cheek bones were high and rosey. Her lips where full and a dark pink. Her two paws became hands and arms, medium, muscluar and tan. Her top was a dark green leather that tied up the back, her pants form fitting and also dark green leather. No sooner had the cloth touched her back than she is gone, a large raven, nearly obscured in the dark gloom, ruffling it's feathers in her place. Damp feathers would dry quicker than a saturated cloak. Clacking her beak impatiently, she glances about the seemingly empty corridor before turning and moving off, on foot, in the raven's characteristic swagger. {Gliding easily through the dark, cloud covered sky, the large ebony figure ducks under cover of the forest trees just as the first, heavy drops of rain hit the uppermost leaves. In moments the clouds abandon their hold, allowing the days of condensed humidity to drop suddenly from the sky.
The onyx bird blinks against the chilling rain as it pelts and soaks her carefully maintained feathers, wings straining against the stormy breeze as she ducks gratefully into the shelter of the Lair. Waterlogged flights take their toll upon the raven even in the dry shelter of the caves and with a obvious note of reluctance drops to the ground. But the familiar clack of lengthy talons does not come, instead the nearly silent thwump of a panthers paws, falls, muffled to the stone floor. Emerald eyes peer warily into the gloom as she shakes, ridding the outermost water droplets from her pitch black fur.
A familiar scent wafts into the large cat's sensitive nostrils as she moves into the main cavern. Pausing, paw outstretched in a moment of indecision, her tail twitches and she continues, trotting gracefully after the elusive scent of Y'Lara.}

Owl makes entrance, dangerously curved beak a dark black. The owls golden eyes look about the caverns, landing on the shifter called Justice for just a moment. A new shifter had arrived, that was a rare occurence. Y'Lara lands briefly, then shifts back to her human form, allowing only a glance in Justice's direction. She shrugged, the looked around the caverns, and vanshes into one of the pathways leading down.

Y'Lara looks around, her bright golden eyes obviously nervous and worried. She looks to Badhbh and Kaila, a decision already in her mind.
"Well," she says quietly, skepticism in her voice, "we must go, now. We are into the full moon, and personally, I wish to live past the age I currently occupy, and I wish to survive as a Shifter. We must find some place to go."
Y'Lara turns to Badhbh and thinks. "You have a new form, correct? A horse, I believe. Why don't you carry Kaila to the Covenstead or the Academy, and that way, we can all survive. We are the only shifters left, and it's clear that we must survive."
Y'Lara finishes and sighs, shifting swiftly to her owl form, hooting gently to the two. She clambers up a stalagmite and spreads her wide black and grey wings, jumping into the air and wavering unsteadly out of the cave.

{Ocellus orbs flick quietly to the Slayers, noting their growing restlessness as they drifted twoard the exit. No matter, they had helped simply by coming and seemed to be on the trail of the escaped Vampyre.
She turns her attention abruptly back twoard the injured panther upon the cold stone.
"Do you have the strength to shift back? It will be difficult to get you anywhere in this form."
A slight sigh escapes her emotionless lips as she scans the surrounding cave walls for a potential area of safety. It would be difficult to find a place that a dark creature could not also access; difficult, at least, for one without wings...}

The woman strides in, looking quite annoyed. The Old City had been pretty much deserted when she had scouted out there for werewolves and other evil creatures... She had found nothing, seen nothing. Entering the lair, she pauses to peer down at the stained earth. Blood. She suddenly ran through the possibilities. Banshees - she had witnessed an attack of a banshee, and they didn't strike her as the type to create or leave such a mess. Demons, or what she knew of them anyway, didn't look to make that much of a mess... Skinwalkers wouldn't have likely caused it, either, although she had heard rumors that one skinwalker had been haunting the lair lately. Werewolves... Nah. They didn't usually attack in such a manner to produce that much blood, so it was unlikely. Vampyres? That seemed like an obvious possibility. Their feeding habits tended to be messy, from what little she knew of them. The mess could easily have been caused by a feeding vampyre.
Following the trail of blood, she hesitated to peer into Kali's cavern... She finally spies several figures, including her instructor, but she remains outside the door and out of the way of the working shifters, puzzling over the happenings as she waited patiently.

Attacks -- Breone Mindale, 18:11:06 03/23/02 Sat
The earlier entered blonde woman suddenly leaps, jumping onto Kali's small back and dragging the child down with pure force. Claw like nails now become apparent, cleverly hidden earlier from anyone who might have seen her feeding mechanism. The sudden greedy nature of all feeding Vampyres comes into Breone's crystalline green eyes. An almost frantic like passion comes into her as she shoves her claws up behind Kali's s shoulder blade, and jerks the bone out, rending Kali's flesh apart in the process.
Breone shakes in the lust and thrill of the feed, taking great pleasure in the brutal process and the life blood leaking from the destroyed flesh. Breone lowers her head, her curly golden locks falling into the pool of blood as she drinks the precious fluid, taking into herself part of the valuable life of the shifter. Breone feeds for what must seem hours to many, but which is, in fact, only minutes. Lust and pleasure becomes apparent in the Vamp's eyes as she performs the ancient and and sacred ritual, ecstasy clear in her trembling, stained lips.
She eventually removes herself from her victim, reluctance clear in her body language and regret filled eyes. She shakes herself slightly, drops of blood flicking about as Breone stands. She looks at Kali, affection coming to fruition on her face.
"We'll have to do this again sometime," she says, felicity evident in her voice. "I'll remember you my little cup cake. Be ready." With a sultry laugh, Breone leaves the lair, droplets of blood falling from her dyed hair.
(ooc: Kali, you have been fed off of by a Vampyre. I hope you enjoyed it, and if you found something that you think I did wrong with this attack, then please go talk to Ciara.)

Blonde haired, blue eyed woman makes her elegant entrance, the spotless white shawl she donned was wrapped neatly around her thin and delicate frame. She drywashes her exquisite hands nervously, concern clear in her crystalline oculi. She steps forward and extends one slender hand to Kali, fear clear in her entire being.
"Please child," she says in a harsh, worry-filled voice, "come away from that creature. Only heavens knows what harm it could do to you. There is nothing you can do for Melody, the women of the light, the witches, have not enough members to excorsize him. There is nothing you can do. Please, come away."

{Dropping low over the cave entrance, the metallic black bird circles once, preparing to enter the gaping black doorway. But she averts her dive as the wolf bursts from the entrance, and allows her path to bring her once again over the sprouting green treetops. Doubt nabs annoyingly at her mind.. such a swift departure was not a good sign..
She side slipps easily, wings pumping rythmically as she alters her course silently after the fleeing canine...}

{Ebony bird blinks blandly, changing even as she does so, into her human form. Slender bare feet swinging precariously over the edge of the rocky outcrop. Still she remain silent and observant single brow raising in silent question to the horrified shifters below.
The ominous silence is broken as she finally voices her curiosity.
"What do you fear?"
Her voice echos among the many caverns though her gaze remains steady. Surely the visit from the banshee did not still terrify those within the lair? For although the experience was traumatic, the creature had scince been killed and such a level of fear did not often remain wihin an entire group. Her mind held little doubt that some other creature had visited the lair, yet the description of this creature should certainly be revealed, if for nothing but the other's safety...}

{The hunched ebony figure waits silently in the treetops as the human passes, somewhat stiffly, by. Strange. Shapeshifters rarely traveled in their human form, most finding it akward and slow. Only when the figure is out of sight and hearing does the large bird move, shuffling sideways upon the branch and launching from her dew-laden perch, sending a cascade of water droplets springing from the damp bare branch. Remaining a safe distance above the road, she glides smoothly forward before dropping abruptly into the wide lair entrance. The familiar ledge of rock awaits invitingly, undisturbed in its lofty position high above the chamber floor. Landing with a soft click of her talons, the raven turns, wings hunched, emmiting a brief croak as her gaze strives to guess at the obviously frightening recent event...}

She enters, nervous. Will she be ever completely safe? Her hands trembled as she pulls her coat tighter around her. She cries silently. She was still terrified. A small stone falls down and bounces off a rock and makes a slight noise. Immediately, Melody jumps with fright and looks about quickly with her clear yellow eyes. She trembles slightly as she continues walking.

{Opening a bleary ocellus emerald eye, the metallic black bird clacks her beak, rising slowly from the cold stone ledge. Extending an ash grey foot and ebony wing in a luxurious stretch, she repeats the process on the opposite side and ruffles her feathers with a shake. Stepping forward with a casual glance cast down upon the new arrivals, she quietly beggins to preen her somewhat rumpled feathers.
The sleep had done her good in light of the recent shock to the system the banshee had delivered.
The raven flexes her wings once more and steps off the ledge, allowing herself a short dive before pulling up with a flick of her wings and soaring high into the cavern's dome.
After finsihing a satisfying bout of aerobatics, she pauses upon an outcropping, refreshed and ready for the day....}

..: A sweet voice rang out. A white tiger slowly entered to lair. The tiger stood on two legs. Transforming, The tiger's hair grew out and gathered on the top of her head, growing to about lower back length. Her eyes rounded to the human shape but the colour stayed the same. The face transformed from a tigers to a female human, her cheek bones were high and rosey. Her lips where full and a dark pink. Her two paws became hands and arms, medium, muscluar and tan. Her top was a dark green leather that tied up the back, her pants form fitting and also dark green leather. She wore no shoe though her feet did not look rought like most would assume, they where instead small and fragile looking. Her hair was black with two white sreaks on either side in the front. First of all, I would like to state that I am the new gaurdian of Scythe. I e-mailed Morgan and she gave the game to me. If you really wanted to know, I do indeed have several characters joined into this game, as a matter of fact, this is one of my favorites. So, hello, and I hope we can all get along.

Eagle-Owl makes silent entrance in through the higher entrances of the cave. Sharp eyes look down, catching movements and noting the others like him. His eye searching stops as he spots two he knows to be demonic. He lets out a tremendous scream, both warning and challenge. He spreads his wings and dives off his high perch, screaming again to Kathryn and Arwen. He knew creatures of the dark, and to him, Werewolves and Vampyres were two of the deadliest.
He pulls up his dive and comes down at a fast rate with talons outstretched, each raking claw heading for Kathryn and Arwen.

{Shaking away the remnants of terror, the bird ruffles her feathers and swings back down to the opening of the cave.. Work must be finished.
Gliding silently into the main cavern, she glances with distaste at the decapitated body, transforming reluctantly into her human self and setting about the task of burning the body. Although indifferent to the sight of carrion, which she encountered quite often in her raven form, the smell of the banshee was something she was not used to sensing as human.
Placing the head on the body, she drags the suprisingly light form out of the lair and onto the stone directly outside the cave. Escaping the pungent odor for the moment, she collects brush for a starter, piling it around and on top of the body before striking a flint upon dried grass, until a spark appears.. and breathing the flames to life. Plucking her arrow from the woman's torso, she steps back, spreading the fire manually about the pile to be sure before stepping gratefully back. She takes a moment to wipe the arrow upon the turf, and replacing it in her quiver, turning and dissapearing in a sudden swing of black feathers, over the rise..}
