Mike, I thank God for the grace revealed through Christ in your life. Indeed God uses UBF despite its weaknesses, however that is not an excuse. The faults in UBF, and particularly the leadership are not incidental or negligible. They are serious and have led to many people being hurt or cut off. The heart of the issue is that some leaders have set themselves up in an authoritarian way that actually interferes with peoples relationship to God. Some people appear to be standing in the place of God or telling people that God's blessing comes through that person or through obeying them. It tends to be an organization that teaches you to trust people more than Christ.

Where you are now you do not see it. But you will see it later on if you stay and grow in a position of leadership. Yes, it revolves mostly around SL. It is a very serious issue. And the problem is that there is no way to deal with it in UBF.
