This does not detract from the fact that the man is a dunder head. Tchaikovsky hated the Nutcracker Suite, too, but did he go back and rewrite it? Did he make additions and subtractions 20 years later? No. It was a work that he was able to let go. I think great artists know when to say that a work is finished. Hell, even mediocre artists know this! Lucas doesn't know when to let go. Perhaps he has separation anxiety. Perhaps he realizes that he will never out-do this success, so fiddles with it. Perhaps, in fact, he is sabotaging it on purpose!!! Who knows? It is just as I have always said...
