LOL Gina, you are too funny. Why would you telling me about your Christmas ever offend me? It never did before, i dont get it. Not like you are giving me a sermon about Jesus Christ, or telling me in detail the summary of the Christmas mass you attended! LOL (even that won't offend me, annoy me maybe but thats as far as it goes heehee) You are so cute. You sharing stories about your family and what you got for Christmas can never offend me, i welcome it!
It sounds like you had a really great Christmas, glad you got to spend a little of it with each part of the family. I know first Christmas without a loved one is so hard, one of Ian's cousins passed away last December, right after Christmas (also he lost 2 uncles within weeks of each other in spring of 2011) so it's never easy. Hang in there.
Do you get an artificial tree? I got confused how you got a 12ft tree for NEXT Christmas but then i realized it must not be a real one :) We put up a small real tree in our apt for the first time (figured we might as well put in the effort now that we are a married couple hehe) Since we didnt know how our cat would react to it and we have a tiny apt, i got one of those 3 foot tall tiny things that i just put on top of the table. But once it was all decorated with tinsel and ornaments, it actually looked really cute :) I loved the smell of fresh pine and the cat totally wasnt even interested in it, we were worried she will knock it down or something but she couldn't care less hehe
We always go to my hubby's dad's family for Christmas (his parents are divorced but very amicably so, his mom is remarried and lives further away, she came down to NYC to visit us the day after Christmas till right before New Years) Typically Thanksgiving and Christmas we do at his aunt's house, his dad's side of the family is huge, his dad is one of 8 so most of his brothers and sisters get together and there are lots of cousins and their kids too, its always a lot of fun. Except this time half the family showed up coughing and got the other half of us sick so i spent the entire wknd after Christmas in bed with the flu and 103 degree fever. I am feeling totally fine now, i got over it in record time so was still actually able to go out to ah house party with my friends on New Years Eve (i can never stay home, NYE is just too big of a deal to me still hehe). But now i passed it to my hubby though but he has a much milder version, just some sniffles. So that seemed to be the Christmas present that everyone got LOL As for what i got: hubby got me a certificate to a hair salon, i get my hair blown out almost on a weekly basis (just cant manage it myself for the life of me, dont even try to teach me, buddy, it's like me trying to teach you how to draw floor plans, this is why you are a hairstylist and i am not LOL) and this salon by our house had a great deal for 3 blow outs so i just asked him to get that for me. He wanted some sort of a huge sequel book on The Walking Dead, he's obsessed with that show (apparently it was a comic book first, who knew). So i got him that and a nice new leather wallet because his old one was falling apart.....His dad got me a certificate to Bliss Spa, which is one of the most popular spas in NYC, so i am excited about that, it will come in the mail so am waiting for it. Mother-in-law got us a certificate for dinner and dancing at Copacabana so that should be fun. I also got a bunch of little accessories like scarves and all that cute stuff, we typically do Secret Santa since the family is so huge......I didnt take pics of the gifts, in all honesty, Gina, i am not really on Facebook that much anymore, my hubby left it altogether at the beginning of the year, he was getting a little too addicted to it :) I just go on there once in a blue moon and dont even keep up with who posts what, so i dont really like the whole thing, to be perfectly honest with you.....Email is just much better for me. I am still waiting on some of those professional wedding pics of Rachel's wedding, i only saw the few quickie ones you sent me at the very beginning :)
xo,
Myst
