Unfortunately, Janet Jackson's "hijacking" (as Stern put it) of the SuperBowl has now trickled down and caused the right-wing to really push their agenda and limit what people can say and do on the airwaves.

What it comes down to is that parents must be responsible for what their children watch and listen to. End of story. However, many parents LOVE to hear that it's someone else's fault that their children are exposed to what some might consider "vulgar" or "innapropriate." So, the right-wing does their thing with trying to get "indecent" stuff off the air, parents who shelf personal responsibility become happy, and then they go vote for those that kept <gasp> Howard Stern off the air!

There are so many greater and more important issues to deal with than getting "Bubba the Love Sponge" off the air, and putting a five-minute delay on Awards Shows because God forbid someone hears a celebrity utter the word "fuck."

Parents - speak to your kids, try to understand your kids, monitor what they watch at a young age, and encourage open discussions with them. These simple acts will have much greater long-term effects than leaving it up to the right-wing politicians to rid the air of things they personally don't like.
