Yeah Brad is getting up there like the rest of us where things start falling apart. Don't know about out there, but ropin calves have come down in price around here quite a bit compared to 2 to 3 months ago. (NT) -- Varmit, 20:02:08 07/17/06 Mon
- They were paying $1.30 to $1.75 Monday. Hay is high too. Round bales are selling for $50.00 to $65.00 and you are luckey if you can find some. I have 75 and am not selling any of it. There are 71 yearlings on my ranch and only 5 of them are mine. All of them are paying pasture but they bring in only about half what my feedlot cattle are costing in feed bill. The ony place in Texas where it's raining is in Muleshoe where my steers are and all I get out of it is wet steers. (NT) -- ZD Ranch, 11:26:38 07/18/06 Tue
  - They bringing from about $1.20 on the low end of heifers and $1.35 on the steers. A few months ago all roping calves were bringing from about $2.10 to $2.40. 300 pounds and up are still bringing a decent price. (NT) -- Varmit, 11:41:24 07/18/06 Tue
    - At the end of June when we sent my calves to the feedlot they would not have brought over $85.00. The day I got the first feed bill the market in the Panhandle was quoting them @ $107.00. Most likely won't bring that now as fats are off some but I figure the first full months feed bill is paid just by the increase in value from being in cattle feeding country.
