They were paying $1.30 to $1.75 Monday. Hay is high too. Round bales are selling for $50.00 to $65.00 and you are luckey if you can find some. I have 75 and am not selling any of it. There are 71 yearlings on my ranch and only 5 of them are mine. All of them are paying pasture but they bring in only about half what my feedlot cattle are costing in feed bill.   - At the end of June when we sent my calves to the feedlot they would not have brought over $85.00. The day I got the first feed bill the market in the Panhandle was quoting them @ $107.00. Most likely won't bring that now as fats are off some but I figure the first full months feed bill is paid just by the increase in value from being in cattle feeding country.
