Yeah, I seen where small calves had taken a jump. but they still not that high down here. More to choose from I guess. I know fat cows have fell off 10 cents a pound down here. Had a guy yesterday tell me just about everybody in North and South Dakota sold off their cows because of the drought. I know in southern Wyoming and northern Colorado, I saw very few cows compared to other years. But with no grass and the cost of hay, most do not have a choice. -- RODEO RAMBLINGS

- It's raining and raining here in southern NM --old timers say it's been since 1941 that we had rains like this. Flooding everywhere. And so now the rains have done what the drought WAS doing. Keeping hay prices sky high. Lots of black ruined alfalfa laying around.         I visited with an old college pal I have not seen since 1959. He's from the Ft. Stockton area and they ranch 50 sections. They had about 18 months of above average rainfall out there before we visited. He told me that this was the first time in his life they had rain and a good market at the same time.
