asalam alaikum
i'm muslim women who converted to islam after i marriage and i have a son that is from my past life, i don't know the right name of the father all i know is that he left australia and he know about he's son but he didn't want to be part of he's son life and when he's son was born he didn't want to put he name was the father and i put my son in my family name and when i married i changed my son name and put my new husband as he father and i would like to know what is the right thing to do about my son name and what rights does my son have if my husband past away

As Saalamu Alaikoum,

First of all in Islam no man is responsible for another mans child.. so thus your husband doesnt own your son anything because he is NOT his father.

Secondly, it is haraam to give your son the name of another man who is not his father. You need to go find the name of his real father and name him his name.

But again, you son is not entitled to anything from the passing of any man other than his real father and he should also know who his real father is. If your husband wants to leave your son something as part of charity he can but he is not obligated to leave him anything nor take care of him.
