AS SALAAMU ALAIKUM WA RAHMANTUALLAHE WA BARAKATAHU I NEED PROOF THAT THE SAYIN OF RAMADAN MUBARAK IS UPON THE SUNNAH OR NOT? N IF SO DID THE PROPHET SAWS DID SUCH ? N IF HE DIDNT DID HE APPROVE OF HIS COMPANIONS TO DO SUCH?I HEAR THAT THIS IS BIDAH BUT LAST NIGHT N CLAS I HEAR THAT THE PROPHET SAWS DID SUCH I WOULD LIKE THE DALEEL ON THIS IF IS IS UPON THE SUNNAH N IF IT IS NOT SO THAT I COULD TELL OTHERS INSHALLAH ALSO IF IT IS NOT UPON THE SUNNAH MAY ALLAH FORGIVE THOSE WHO FOLLOW THEIR DESIRES N DOING SUCH BIDAH AMEEN MAY ALLAH FORGIVE US FOR OUR SINS N ACCEPT OUR FASTING N KEEP US FAR AWAY FROM THE MAJOR SINS N FORGIVE US FOR OUR MINOR SINS AMEEN JAZZAK ALLAH KHARIN

Salaam,

I answered this question for you yesterday and the answer remains the same. There are many stories from the hadith of how the Sahabah would congradulate one another on the arrival of ramadhan. The Prophet (saw) said the kaafir have their days of celebration and we have ours [bukhari and muslim]

It is not for me to sit and proove this point to you. Youc an find evidence of this simply by reading the hadiths from the chapter of Ramadhan from the hadith books.

It is for those persons who came to you and told you it is haraam to present their evidence. Anytime a person says something is haraam he should have proof of it because Allah has clearly defined the haraam to us. If he or she can not present their evidence, then you tell them to keep quiet.. but again.. it is not my job or anyone elses to proove anything to you because we did not say it was haraam. Go back to your friends and tell them to show you their evidence.
