Assalaamu Alaykum

I know that Allah is attributed with a yad. From what I have been told is that it's ok to say Allah is attributed with a yad bi laa kaif, instead of trying to explain what yad means when it comes to Allah, Since we know that yad has many different definitions in order to be on the safe side we should just say "Allah is attributed with a yad, bi laa kaif" Now I have been told that some scholars said it's ok to say that, some scholars say it means power and some scholars say that it means hand. Allahu Alim

So do we say that Allah has body parts when Allah says in the Quran "laysa kamithlihi Shay" So in other words was yad and the likes explained by any of the sahaba as meaning that Allah has a hand, eye, shin, face. etc. etc.

JazakAllahu Khairn

p.s. sorry if this sounds redundant, didn't quite know how to word my question.

As Salaamu Alaikoum,

Praise be to Allah.

Allah is however he describes himself. If he says he has two hands then that means he has two hands. A believer does not sit around wasting his time trying to figure out what Allah is. He is as he is and as he describes himself to be.. and that is sufficient.

The Prophet(saw) used to say beware of asking too many questions about things of which even if you knew the answers to them you still would not understand..[Bukhari and Muslim]

AND ALLAH KNOWS BEST
