Assalaamu Alaykum

In the Quran Allah saids he rose above the throne....Some scholars say we just affirm what has been said and leave it at that, some say it means he established himself on the throne, or it shows his power and status, and some say he rose above the throne bithatihi(sp?). So when someone says "where is Allah" I hear "Allah is above the throne" I hear Allah exists without a place" I hear "Allah is as he was". Some people use as a proof that Allah is in the sky the hadithu jariyah, which I heard was a mudtarib hadith. Of course we know that Allah existed in nothingness before the creation and he did not take on any new attributes once he created the creation, which basically says that Allah is as he was....can u explain a bit more.

JazakAllahu Khairn

Praise be to Allah.

Allah is however he describes himself. If he says he has two hands then that means he has two hands. A believer does not sit around wasting his time trying to figure out what Allah is. He is as he is and as he describes himself to be.. and that is sufficient.

The Prophet(saw) used to say beware of asking too many questions about things of which even if you knew the answers to them you still would not understand..[Bukhari and Muslim]

AND ALLAH KNOWS BEST
