Salam Alaikum, Oh, brothers and sisters. I have lately been seeing and hearing alot of bickering about Salafeeyah. I found out about this site, and decided to ask about it. Is it correct to attribute your selves to the salaf and call yourselves Salafee. If you have the answers, please give me much daleeh.

As Salaamu Alaikoum,

We do not entertain questions here which deal with politics. At this website we do not bicker with others. We are an Islamic Website of Learning. We teach the basics of Islam to others..We do not bash others.

At this website we call ourselves by the name given to us by Allah..MUSLIMS... which was the name also of every Prophet of Allah. At this website we also tell the people that we are Muslims who follow the Quran and the Sunnah in accordance to the understanding of the companions of the Prophet(saw).

But if someone else chooses to call himself a salafee meaning that he follows the way of the sahabah then there is nothing wrong with that. But if he calls himself this as a way of separating himself from the rest of the Ummah and slandering others then of course he is not following the way of the Companions of the Prophet(saw) for they did not do that.

May Allah keep us all on the path of the Quran and Sunnah and give us understanding of Islam as the first 3 generation of Muslims understood it to be...
