Asalamu Alykum

What is the ruling on those people who knowingly quote fabricated hadith?

I know there are hadith which states that the Prophet Muhammad (saw) said, "Whoever tells a lie on me intentionally, let him take a seat in the hell fire." {Bukhari and Muslim}.

My question is if someones knowingly quotes fabricated hadith does this take him outside the fold of islam?
