In regards to cutting the hair, there is no evidence to show that cutting the hair is haraam for a woman to do: It was narrated in Saheeh Muslim that Abu Salamah ibn ‘Abd al-Rahmaan said: “The wives of the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) used to cut their hair until it came just below their ears.” (al-Hayd, 481) Al-Nawawi said: this indicates that it is permissible for women to cut their hair short. But women should avoid resembling kaafir women or immoral women when they cut their hair In regards to removing hair from your arms and legs, there is nothing wrong with this. However, it is HARAAM for women to Arch or remove the hair from their eyebrown in ANY way: In al-Saheeh, it was reported that Ibn Mas’ood (may Allaah be pleased with him) said: “Allaah has cursed the women who do tattoos and those who have this done, the women who pluck eyebrows and those who have this done, and the women who file their teeth and change the creation of Allaah.” Then he said: “Should I not curse those whom the Messenger of Allaah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) cursed, when it says in the Qur’aan (interpretation of the meaning): ‘ … And whatsoever the Messenger gives you, take it, and whatever he forbids you, abstain (from it)…’ [al-Hashr 59:7]” AND ALLAH KNOWS BEST Laila Nasheeba [ Next Thread | Previous Thread | Next Message | Previous Message ]
