Salam Dear Sister,

(1) Can you explain to me a hadeeth that says a woman can only change her clothe's at home. But what if she goes hajj or visit's her family? doesn't she change her clothes to put new ones on. Can you explain this hadeeth

(2) Can women train or exercise in a only women's Gym with her clothe's on?

(3) And isn't there a hadeeth in Abu dawood that women should walk by the side's of the road. Men walk in the middle and women by the sides. this hadeeth is authentic, should women walk by the side's of the road, it is very difficult especially in the western world but then you have to walk in the middle of the road were there are men and the women are very close to the men when walking in the middle, what should the wome do?

from a sister

As salaamu Alaikoum,

Praise be to Allah.

First of all, the hadith you mention does NOT MEAN that woman have to walk on the side of the road and men in the middle:

Narrated AbuUsayd al-Ansari
AbuUsayd heard the Apostle of Allah (peace be upon him) say when he was coming out of the mosque, and men and women were mingled in the road: Draw back, for you must not walk in the middle of the road; keep to the sides of the road. Then women were keeping so close to the wall that their garments were rubbing against it. [Dawud 2516]

This Hadith is not telling women to walk to the side and men to the middle. It is a hadith whereas the Prophet(saw) told both men and women to get out of the street and to walk on the side so as to allow traffic to pass by.

In regards to a woman taking off her clothes, she should not remove her clothes in the public. This includes Health clubs and the like. It does not apply to home or when staying with your relatives or making hajj.

AND ALLAH KNOWS BEST
