Would you prefer your government to want you to be as miserable as possble, and that you are unable to do ANY shopping because you have no income and no money?

I would prefer them not to tell us to be happy, miserable, or anything. Its our choice.

I remember, a little after 9/11, we were told we'd all feel much better if we went shopping. That, to me, is just weird.

You see, I think our appetite for shopping has become a sedative that continues to plague my step mom and dad's debts. They're near bankruptcy and they just got a new wood floor put in their living room. And my step mom continues to boast over the new Wal-Mart, where she spends half her day at. Just as gambling is, I believe shopping can become a disease, as well. There are kids going hungry with parents who have spinning rims on their tires (there is something terribly wrong with that picture).

The sad fact is, my parents aren't alone. There are so many people in this country up to their eye-balls in debt yet they continue to shop because they're told it makes them happy. Which, of course, many have said they are quite miserable. That's why we have the Dave Ramsey's and those credit counselors.

Its an epidemic of "happiness".

But, anyways, are you saying shopping is the end-all of enjoyment? That no one can be happy unless they are shopping?

..... "people" includes you too. You don't want to be happy?

Forced to be happy? Uh, no.

But, you know, its not exactly me or anyone being forced to be happy as much as it is the commercials (and so forth) presenting a myth that one will be happy if they do something that coincidently helps the . . uh . . the Wal-Marts, the fast food chains, the drug companies, the car manufacturing companies, etc.

So then you prefer the Old World Order (definition?)?

"New World Order" was actually a term coined by the Nazis (uh, Hitler, to be exact). George Herbert Walker Bush brought it back a few decades later. Today we're reaping the "benefits" (yay!).

..... When does that license come up for renewal, and can you show cause why it should vbe renewed? (LAUGHS)
