Hi Victor!

Welcome to the challenging tactics of Squad Leader! :-)

Yes to all of these.

Please refer to Scott's reply. This scenario is called "Forced March" ... and it requires BOTH sides to move as fast as they can. The Germans MUST learn to use road movement in order to have a chance.

Unless slowed by possible Russian defensive fire, the Germans can even arrange to be in the P1 building at the end of their turn one advance phase.

Yes, perhaps you are. Letting 3 of the needed 5 Russian squads off the board without any interdiction is asking for trouble, thats 60% of the Victory Condition! The Germans need to use as much fire as possible, plus the DRM benefits they get from their leaders, to make the Russian movement effort as difficult as possible.

And on the flip side, the Russians should think about BOTH getting squads to the exit area AND what they can do to make the German task as difficult as possible.

>I suppose the next 2 alpha scenarios
>will better challenge the Russians?

The later Alpha situations are all quite different. According to the "Record of Scenarios" Alpha-1 is the most balanced. But I will gladly take either side in any of these Alpha levels. They all appear easy, but involve complex fire and movement decisions ... and due to the SL combat resolution system, every game seems to play quite differently.

So, back to my original question. If the Russians decide to use some of thier forces to interdict German maneuver, how many squads/leaders should they use and where? ;-)
