History: Thies was born in a large Sea Hold (formally Half-Circle) that is known for its large docking caverns. As such, the young men there are trained to the ways of the sea, and Thies is no exception. Since he was seven Turns old, Thies has spent every moment on his uncle's boat, the Seafarer. Most often he was just along for the ride, but his uncle did put him to work as deckhand. From so many Turns spent on the unpredictable seas, Thies has develouped a "seaman's leg"-that is, he has sure footing and balance. Thies developed relationships with some of the playful dolphins who raced the bwos of the Seafarer, though he never had much desire to become a dolphineer. His uncle, however, saw something in him that Thies did not; Thies had the likes of a dragonrider. He was sure-footed, strong, loyal, kind, and often made the right and fastest decisions. When approached with his uncle's view of him, Thies only smiled and nodded. To be a dragonman had been his dream for many Turns, but he did not share it with anyone, because so many so him as a ship captain rather then a Wingrider.
Appearance: Thies is of medium height (about 5'8") with a stocky build. He has rugged-cut sandy brown hair and serene blue-grey eyes. His skin is rather tan from many Turns spent on a ship's deck, and his stride is often long and sure when walking.
Personality: Thies is confident and sure of himself and the abilities of others. He has the knack for seeing certain personalities in those around him and knowing what they would be best at. He is easy to work with and a trusting friend. He does, however, have a temper that causes him problems, but he is learning to keep it under control, or at least at a simmer until he can release it properly.
