Hello and Welcome!

Are you sure you are pregnant, have you taken a test? If not, then that is the first step you need to take.

Next, if you are pregnant, then you need to make your first dr's appt. There are a lot of places that will help you for free. Tracey has given you some options and they are the experts and have all the resources you will need.

If indeed you are pregnant, seeing a dr asap to ask about the medications is very important. It will matter to know how far along you are as well.

You can do this! No one will tell you it is easy, but it will be the best thing you will do in your life, I believe! All of us on this board have been in your shoes at one time or another, including myself. I look at my daughter each day (she will be 3 years old this month) and I can not believe that I created her and that she is so beautiful!

We want to help you along in any way we can. Let us know what you need.

I would not worry about the baby's fathers parents. It is next to impossible to take a baby away from its mother.

Hope to hear from you soon on your test and how far along you are!

Love,

Lisa

I have read about Paxil and the increased risk of heart defects. The risk in the normal population is 1% of pregnancies. The risk in the group taking Paxil is 2%. That is a 100% increase in risk, but the risk is still not huge. It would be a good thing to discuss with the doctor who can help with a risk/benefit assessment. As for the Aleve, I think the biggest risk is in the later part of pregnancy if I recall correctly. IT's pretty hard on the stomach, though, so I would definitely not take it on an empty stomach. The risk/benefit is also something your doctor can discuss with you as well as possible alternative treatments. It's not unusual to do everything right and have problems or to do everything wrong in pregnancy and have a healthy outcome. If only we had guarantees.

I would check out the Crisis Pregnancy Centers to see if you can get any referrals for legal help should it be needed. I don't think their suit would have much merit as long as you cannot be proven unfit, which is difficult to do. If the CPC cannot help you, let met know and I'll do more research for you.

I would take the threat seriously to be on the safe side, but I hope you take a little encouragement in knowing that threats are common, but actions are not nearly so common. Just document everything to be safe, but chances are good you won't have to deal with it down the road.

Feel free to e-mail me anytime. I will help in whatever way I am able.
