Re: I Don't Think That's What You Want -- Adrienne Cera DeeDrean, 05:37:15 04/27/02 Sat
Adrienne eyes flashed through the whole thing, wincing on every word, cringing at every point, and being angered with no actual reason. Dropping the ball onto the ground she stared at him, green eyes twinkling as if she admired his spirit or something, and she nodded before proceeding. "Bravo your highness you've managed to give a very moving speech with a flat point, I never said 'you', I said 'them'...considering your sitting right here I don't think 'them' includes 'you'". She smirked and then walked to where he was sitting and sat beside him, not too close, what if somebody saw? Adrienne didn't want to labeled because she would never be accepted by these 'people', and probably not accepted by her friends again. "Besides you've yet to tell me to get out of your sight or you'll call your father who practically owns the school, possibly because he's dated all of the teachers. So I've not crossed you off the list of people with sanity, I barely know you Julian, but if your as different as you think you are why would you even bother with people like Natalia and Celeste? Stuck-up barbie dolls..." Adrienne said, and then she wondered if even knew what a barbie doll was, "Are you muggle-born, I was only wondering I mean incase you didn't know what a barbie doll was" she said lightening up, playing with her soccer ball under her feet.

Re: Not This Time Around -- Adrienne Cera DeeDrean, 13:01:10 04/27/02 Sat
Adrienne glared, it didn't look good on her face, anything evil never looked good on her face. But no matter she was still doing it. "Your right..." she said coldly, "I don't know Natalia, or Celeste, thank god. But I know people like them...they are a walking stereotype, don't try tot ell me different, I already know, and if I don't please correct me. What are they like? So good that you would defend them? Well, whatever. And maybe I am a hypocrit, my dad says so too, but what can I do about that? Next to nothing!" she finished. And then a small laugh escaped after a small silence, "So your muggle-born, what part of the US are you from? I'm from New York, it's hellacious going home every year, way on the other side of the country".

Re: It's all in the result. -- Julian Emberson, 11:40:53 04/28/02 Sun
He shrugged, merely disregarding her last accusation directed both to himself and her own being. "San Francisco," He said. Of course, if it were really him speaking it would be a lie, but this wasn't him. This was someone else. It was someone new and he was living his life for him. Who better? "Around North Beach. I used to live in New York until I got bored of it. But they had better stores." He yawned slightly, rolling his neck. The Glenlivet must have taken some effect, because he felt less emotional, more responsive to sleep than before.

Re: My Result -- Adrienne Cera DeeDrean, 14:17:21 04/28/02 Sun
"I've never been anywhere but here and New York, it must have been great to get the best of all three worlds, snow, sun, and magic' she smiled disregarding anger, her nature didn't support it very long. Adrienne sucked at being angry. "New York...has better stores?" she questioned. "First of all you've got to be kidding, I've always heard Los Angeles was the place to go on shopping sprees, New York is much to pricey. Second, a guy who likes ot shop? And I underestimated you..." she smiled playing with her soccer ball under her feet. "Where did you learn to...eh- do whatever it was you were doing with that sword?" she asked rolling her eyes at her stupidity, but Adrienne knew absolutely nothing about fencing, it didn't do her much good to pretend like she did.

Re: ...Isn't anything spectacular. -- Julian Emberson, 16:09:51 04/28/02 Sun
He rolled his eyes at her comment. "For one thing, if you couldn't already tell, I'm not frugal. Prada, Gucci, Canali, Gaultier, Boss, Kenneth Cole, Donna Karan --you name it, I have it. I don't much like to shop, per say, I just know where the best things are." He snorted. Now she was privy to something rather obvious. He stood up now, energy coming back from nowhere and picked up his duck, walking over to the duffel beside his backpack and neatly laying it in there. His rapier he put aside his things, flexing his fingers within his gloves. He turned his body to face her, running one hand through dry, blonde locks. "I used to fence with the Fencer's Club in New York. It was short-lived. My father taught me the rest, from the correct en guard position to riposte, to go for the kill after an veiled invitation... I suppose since it was one of the only athletic things I could participate in, I decided to. Besides, what good is it to have a rapier without perfecting how to use it with elegance?" His monologues seemed drawn out, repeated, even the slight emotion put into the questions.

Re: No, I'm Not Anything Spectacular -- Adrienne Cera DeeDrean, 17:13:38 04/28/02 Sun
"Oh I see your a poster child, gotta have the expensive stuff, or the latest look, well it would be nice but my father doesn't make that much money. Enough for what I need and occasionaly what I want, that is about it. You're lucky to be able to have those sorts of things. If I ever get really big in money I intend on breaking for humanity, putting my money into stopping polution, world hunger, animal extinction, and saving the rainforests. Of course thats a long shot" she said. She watched as he moved away and listen to the rest of what he had to say. "I'd cut myself the first time I touched it, I've got bad luck with sharp things. I could never handle sharp thing, better to handle round things..." she said pointing to the soccer ball. "You play soccer at all?" she asked.

Re: You've only yet to prove. -- Julian Emberson, 19:04:31 04/28/02 Sun
"If you have it, why not use it?" He shrugged and shook his head, and after removing the flask and its cap and swallowing the whiskey, he figuratively drowned in the feeling it gave his stomach. It was almost gone, the Glenlivet, and his bottle had run out. He'd have to resort to the half-bottle of marc de Burgogne he tired of before finishing. It wasn't whiskey, but he might as well before opening the bottle of Chivas Regal his... father had sent him nearly a month ago. "I don't play any other sport... wasn't much for it. Wasn't built for it, even," He said. His fingered the edge of the rapier before sliding it into its steel scabbard, setting that gently inside the same duffel. He zipped it up and hung it on his shoulder. He was lying when he said he wasn't built for sports, because he was very well conditioned. Although he was slight, his skin appear taut over muscles on his arms and chest. It was just that, well, despite his body's tone, he was still lithe. "Sports aren't my thing anyway."

Re: Forgive me for not wondering, I'm so sorry. -- Adrienne Cera DeeDrean, 15:36:36 04/29/02 Mon
"Well I don't know, even if I had it...it's just a phobia. Stuff you've got to overcome in time, but I thnk this is one of those fear things that sticks" she said. She rolled down her sock and showed a long scar almost all the way around her ankle. "This is what happens when I mess with knives, so my father says. I have feeling he makes things up though, because I don't remember that. I remember..something else" she said grasping the locket on her neck. She smiled, "Sports aren't your thing, and your not built for it?" she saked. "Well I'm not one to judge, I don't know your physical limitations, but you look made for sports! But sports aren't my thing either, I just kick soccer balls when I get really mad, or really bored, sometimes upset. Other than that sports...sports aren't for me. I prefer things that require my mind a little bit, like art stuff. You know music, painting, writing..that sort of thing. What about you, if sports isn't in your deck of cards, what is?" she asked curios.

Re: Whether Or Not You Could Be Different -- Adrienne Cera DeeDrean, 19:19:20 04/30/02 Tue
Adrienne looked at Julian, eyes kind of wondering what the meaning behind his questions were, but she knew what waiting for an answer was like. Looking away from him, incase a few tears escaped, she began. "My mom is dead...I live with my dad. He gets really secretive, and is a workaholic. He doesn't ever talk to me and doesn't understand who I am or what I do. SO I guess that answers your question" Adrienne said. She smiled, despite her feelings, and finished her conversation. "I like to write romances, it's weird, they always come out with same ending...I can't understand it, I do it without thinking. My cousin says it's manifest destiny, maybe so. But my voice is my music, my real asset. Even so...I'm partial to painting...it always turns into an emotion. Just self-expression" she said. "You read alot, why so much, is it important to know everything? If you eat the knowledge now, there won't be anything left on your plate...you'll still be hungry but there won't be anything left. You should save things for the wonders ahead".

Julian noted that she had some conversation attachment to mentioning her parents, father in particular. He grabbed a black leather jacket from a polished wood coat rack nearby, hanging it on the crook of his arm. He finished the Glenlivet inside the lightgrey metal flask, pocketing it as soon as he had drunk it all. It was an ungraceful bump on the side of his thin legs, but Julian didn't mind a bit.
"You're close to your parents?" He queried. Julian needed his questions finalized. Things unanswered left him irritated, and that never did him any good, except perhaps get him wildly drunk. The Virlastyn House didn't appreciate his illusioned happiness, so he tried best as he could never to do so.
He stuck the hand carrying his jacket into his windbreaker's back pocket to gain some balance in case his body became overridden with fatigue. "More or less the same," He answered her. "They've all been part of my life for the longest time. In an hour I'm off to finish a book on Dali. I'm working my way through the library's art philosophy section, like the man in Sartre's novel... starting from the numbers, then A through Z, gradually and alphabetically learning about as much as I can. At the moment, Professor Riddle and I are working on the revision of my play..." He trailed off, stopping soon after and then abruptly laughing awkwardly. "I'm sorry, I don't mean to sound narcissistic or anything. It's just that, yes, my life is pretty much my writing and my art. Music was once a part, as I studied the violin, but now I don't much focus on it."

Re:
"It seemed he said many things to you, nevertheless," He mused aloud, which was meant to be to himself but he cared not. He nodded, her pastimes familiar to him. "Not every wonder is held in a book. Most I'm fancying I will discover when my independence is recognized by the world. For now, there is not much else to wonder about other than the works of my favourites and the work they give us... why not, after all, it's not as if it's a tedious chore. I love the solitude of the library and the things I learn about their lives. It's something I'm looking forward to possibly live as well, my own way. There's nothing asphyxiating my well-being and my expression, myself if you so should call it. My plate is plenty empty but the rations are enough until I am king, and can have it all I want in any way. Plus," He smiled wistfully. "It keeps me saner than the rest of the school. Practically nothing worries Julian." He said this matter-of-factly, third-person, a gloved finger up as an unecessary hand movement.

Re:
"Just because my dad doesn't talk to me doesn't mean he doesn't say anything, he's the world's best screamer, all he does is yell or be harsh. Verbal abuse, but I don't have anyone else in the world" she said. She listened to him, delighted to be able to talk to someone, she'd longed for intelligent life for so long. "This school is pretty psycho, including me. Everything worries Adrienne, every little noise, but I guess that comes from home. Sudden movements-main reason I can't play sports...and harsh words. I hate it all, because it scares me. I'm..insecure. How can you not worry about anything at all? About what happened at Hogwarts? That the infectious poison isn't going to spread here? I worry everyday, everyday, and now even more than ever. I'm stranger to comfort.." she said, and then she admitted a small laugh, "I was even scared to come out ehre today, but I made myself. I use to be able to do wahtever, despite the worries, I liked to go out at night...now I have to make myself do everything I use to do, it's stupid to be so jumpy...but I'm use to it" she smiled.

Re:
"Mm," He said, quietly nodding. He would make his leave now. He needed the sleep, he needed the time to finish his homework. He needed to think about other things. This remote idyll wasn't something he was looking for. Nonetheless he smiled at her and then proceeded to leave. He stopped abruptly at the doorway's arch, the light of outside faintly shining on him. "You were comfortable just now." He said, giving his signature miniature wave of good-bye and he left for the hall. That was a nice break, he told himself. It might have done me good... we'll just see.

Re:
Adrienne's head cocked to one side and she watched him wave and walk away. "You were comfortable just now..." the words recited in her head. She stood up with the soccer ball, starting to kick against the wall, "No..." she said wistfully. "I was distracted just now..." she thoguht. Watching him until she dissappeared she shook her head, still kicking the ball, "Thank you...Thank you for distracting me" she whispered.
