Where on earth did Scully get that butt-ugly necklace? She was wearing the cross in the first two eps, why not this one too? Was it too early to introduce the religion dynamic?

I really liked this one in that Scully makes a conscious decision to stay with the x-files. KM, this fits with what I think is your theory in that the show is really about Scully's journey. We get to see Scully struggle with what she feels she's supposed to do vs. what she wants to do. I get the sense that this has been a lifelong battle for her. She alluded to this in Pilot when she says her parents questioned her decision to join the FBI.

I also like that Scully doesn't try to pretend to Mulder that she isn't interested in moving up the ladder. She also doesn't dispute Colter when he says, in front of Mulder, that Scully said Mulder is "out there". And Mulder doesn't expect an explanation. As he says: she may not agree with him, but she respects the journey.
