Spiritual Notebook 6

These statements should be written in a 180 page spiral notebook (leave a blank line between statements – write on both sides of a page). This should leave many more pages free for more statements to be written in that notebook as you continue reading, learning, and developing as you go through life.

Having a notebook with vital statements and important Scriptures written in it can give you an effective way to keep your mind refreshed and occupied as you look at it repeatedly throughout the day.

--------------------------=

Temptation strikes when we are most vulnerable.

Our Lord calls us to lifestyles that honor Him.

God sees us with eyes of compassion.

What God does for us we should do for others.

The mind is formed by what it takes in.

Keeping the faith means trusting God to faithfully keep you.

We find joy when we learn to live in Jesus' love.

God's fresh mercies can break into our lives at any moment.
- They are always there and we see them when we live with childlike expectation - watching and waiting for what only He can do.

------------------------------------------------------=

Contentment enables you to grow where God planted you.

Our troubles can fill our prayers with love and empathy for others.

The enemy is trying to fight you off of your ground.
- "neither give place to the devil"
- stand your ground
- grace must be guarded.
-You're going to get the victory just by being grounded.

Right now by faith I put on the whole armor of God so that I will have the grace to be grounded to keep all my territory secure from the evil one.

Today I will think in ways that allow grace top ground me so I can stand and keep my mental, emotional, and entire life territory protected from the evil one because I can do all things through Christ Who strengthens me.

------------------------------------------=

You reap what you sow, more than you sow, and later than you sow
- unavoidable harvest

A zeal for the truth must be balanced with love, compassion and humility.

The choice is ours. We can become broken today to become useful, and the blessings will follow.

The Christ-centered life asks "will this affect my relationship with Jesus?"
- "will this strengthen the work of the Kingdom?"

Begin to live on the basis of the truth that Jesus is our life.
- confess Christ is our life.

A person with a sense of conviction has a sense of purpose.
- certain things fit my life and certain things do not.

Keep the big picture in mind.

--------------------------------=

The Heavenly Father knows all of our needs.

Major on your relationship with Jesus Christ.
- then guidance comes.

Love must be the underlying motive in anything we do; in everything we do.

Life is not simple, and God's ways are not our ways. Making the right decision may come at a cost.

When life's struggles make you weary, find strength in the Lord.

The more intimate you live with Jesus, the more you want to obey and please and honor Jesus.
- motivated by love
- motivated by devotion to Jesus.

Growth demands stretching.
- stretching means my faith increases.

As my commitment to Jesus grows, I become more useful to God.

-----------------------------------------=

Persistently seek the guidance you need from the Heavenly Father.

In each choice, our first thought is to do what Jesus desires.

We consider needs in light of God's presence. We ask and trust.

Keep the big picture in mind in every circumstance and every temptation.
- what's really at stake here?
- what's really involved here?
- what will be the harvest of this choice?
- am I prepared to pray the price?

Identify your areas of weakness.
- identify the danger zones in life.

Relying on the Word of God in times of struggle is a way of reinforcing your faith.
- you trust the Word has the ability to help you.

The Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ give many chances.

-----------------------------------=

Saints must go to the Scriptures regularly during trials for encouragement.

Storms reveal things about us that we wouldn't discover any other way.

Storms are training periods.
- the storm works together for our good.

To overcome some obstacles, sustained and persistent praying may be required.

We pray to get in a position so that when God's ready, we're ready.

There is a time for work and there is a time for rest and a time for play.

Prayer and meditation purifies us and refreshes us and prepares us and anchors us.

We must begin with adoring the Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ.

Pay attention to the God-created dimensions in the people around us.

------------------------------------=

Endurance is traveling for strength to strength.

Perseverance is triumphant and alive.

Perseverance is not the result of our determination.
- it is the result of Gods faithfulness.

Making a map of God's faithfulness
- how to acquire perseverance.

There are endless challenges in life to keep us on the growing edge of faith.
- there is always a righteous God with us to make it possible for us to persevere.

By changing our behavior we can change our feelings.

Enjoy the Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ right here and now.

If you can say yes to God with tears then you are beginning to be like Jesus Christ Who said "Nevertheless, not My will, but Thine, be done."
