I will take a stab at it. :)
I think "church buildings" are a cultural expression in this culture. Is God pleased with them? I think He might be displeased with them when most of our money goes to maintaining them and "adding" on to them. Part of me thinks a church would appear "illigitimate" in this culture without a building but the other part would like not to be tied down to payments and concerns about appearences etc.
