For me they are not. They are nerve wracking and not enjoyable at all. We should not have been in the relegation playoffs at all with the squad we had. I'd rather have been able to enjoy promotion play off games as every one would have been a bonus.

C.O. I agree entirely!!! Hate the thought of a nail biteing & disasterous end to a season...better to be able to 'plan ahead' & play with style, knowing that every win is a bonus & a scalp... & every loss is not going to perhaps send the club spinning out of control down through the leagues...there are plenty of recent examples of this sad occurance. Manchester being the most severe...But also look at the position of Launceston, Otley, Sedgly Pk. Even Cov have had a tough season. I would rather Mose kept out of that sh++ fest!! With the squad we have & with a few judicious changes we can be top 8 next season...The lads know how to win. BUT.....
In my humble opinion, I just think that there is no substitute for core team continuity.....(which we have had of late!!)

I too find the relegation playoffs anything but exciting - the disastrous prospect of possibly going down means that I can't enjoy the games because of the anxiety generated and I don't go to the away games for that reason.

This year there was also the prospect of the visit to the grotty little football ground at Damson Lane with its cramped, tiny stand and generally very unpleasant spectator experience - and I speak as one who used to enjoy the ground at Sharmans Road.

It seems so unfair that whilst the team coming down from the Premiership with its Golden Parachute usually boringly waltzes through the Championship winning all its games (Bristol being the only exception) the team from the Championship loses all its professional and semi professional players and has to start again from scratch in a league where all other teams are at least settled. That happened to Coventry, and I'm surprised that they have managed to do as well as they have - half way down the league at last sight.

But then, I suppose Rugby never was a particularly fair game with that shaped ball and a ref who can't see all that goes on. Bit like life really!

Speaking to supporters from Bedford when they came to us the other day, they seemed to think that their success is based on supporters buyng shares in the club. Would that be a way forward for us?

We are not familiar with the structure at Bedford but supporters certainly have been able to buy shares in Moseley and some people have done so in the past. For practical administrative reasons we think these have been in minimum batches of about �500. We are advised that the Company Secretary of the club(who is a lawyer) advised there there are statutory reporting requirements if a general offer of shares is made. This would include the production of a detailed and formal prospectus which is very expensive and would probably cost a number of times what the club would get in from issuing the shares.

If anyone is interested in buying shares they could make enquiries in confidence to the club at info@moseleyrugby.co.uk and we will pass this on the relevent experts on this within the club.
