Subject: low carbs

my arse. seriously - it is completely ridiculous. this morning I had 4 pieces of baguette for breakfast and another 4 at 3pm. I realized i've always snacked on carbs because they fill you up and make you poo. Japanese consume three bowls of white rice every day and they are slender and healthy. the french are stunning and they munch on bread all day.

last weekend I went to Yokota - truly hideous but that is another story - a US air base. land OWNED by America in the middle of Japan! It is like a mini American city. The first thing you see when you drive in is a Hungry Jacks with an enormous LOW CARB poster in the window. I have never seen so many enormous people - and i don't mean parkette butt, I mean HUGE.

I went to the supermarket (everything is american - EVERYTHING - flown in direct from california - all english) and i was in shock. I have never seen an american supermarket before and i was truly baboozled by it all. a whole aisle of processed packaged bread products (filled with jam, filled with nuts, filled with chocolate, glazed, pressed, low carb, high protein, low fat, added vitamins, reduced cholesterol). MY GOSH it was never ending.

I counted the breads in my supermarket today - 7 types and that included bagels, white, rye, sesame, thick cut for toast, baguette and raisins inside. That is it (and it's plenty I might add)

I just don't buy this low card crap. I am not fat and the bulk of my food (breakfast and day snacks) is carb based.
