Well I've learned something new right off the start. I had no idea that the WB wounldn't air this episode. Did they never show it at all or did it have to be redone to be aired? I watched it like I have all of season one, just recently on a tape and I have to admit it was pretty gross even by "vampire show" standards....lol
The introduction of Kate was awkward I thought. If this was supposed to be his new love interest there was definately NOTHING there..lol She had the personality of a wet paper bag, she slumps over and that deer in the headlights look just makes me loose it :o)
Cordy was adorable. I couldn't help but laugh at her reaction when that guy thought she was a hooker and aaaaawwww wasn't it sweet of Doyle to defend her "honor"? lol
The reactions of Doyle and Angel seeing her apartment for the first time crack me up....lol At first Doyle is almost impressed that a woman can live so "relaxed" until he steps in a cold cereal bowl...lol "you're disgusting" Just kills me and then Angel's reaction when he stops talking midsentence and looks around with a smile "you actually live here?" Angel KNOWS how unCordy that apartment is!
Anyway lots of cute, sweet, funny bits in this episode so lets rattle them out.

Re: Official A Walk Down Memory Lane: Lonely Hearts thread -- Morrigan, 10:27:06 03/06/02 Wed
I haven't seen this eppy since it aired, so I had to go back and read the transcript to refresh my memory. Didn't really like the introduction of Kate's character, she seemed blah from the start and, never really picked up, IMO. I might have also been a bit against her b/c when Angel first aired I liked the idea of A/C togther. I gave up after a little while b/c it looked like ME were going for A/K and C/D. Ironic that we may actully get A/C soon, only took 3 years :bitter:. Any way there are some really odd things about this eppy. I don't think they were too sure where to go with Cordy, she kind of bounced back and fourth between ditzy and savey. On one hand, she's being all proactive and getting business cards set up and on the other she can't run a single search on the internet! How many of us didn't have to suffer through a typing class in highschool? Plus she was in Ms. Calendar's Comp. class in season 2 BTVS. Just thought that was odd. I actually liked the C/D talks they were funny together although he tried way too hard. Liked Angel's reaction when he got a look at Cordy's place. He knew that wasn't her normal style. I'm going to have to go back and read the script for the original eppy, to see if it handeled Kate's character any better. Over all it was a pretty decent ep, got a little more insight into each of the characters.

I'm on the boat that this episode was good in some ways and bad in others, I didn't care much for Kate, but I wasn't really against her either, her character just seemed a little... Grooish to me.
And about Cordy not being good with searching the internet, remember in the very first Ep of Buffy, how she was trying to cheat off of Willow in Computer Class... I just thought that was a nice continuity... but then later on she seems to know tons about computers..
Well it was pretty obvious Angel and Doyle didn't know much and since she's the girl Friday;) it's obvious that it had to be her to learn... oooh and the moment when she showed Angel and Doyle the business card...
Man, now I'm all nostalgic-- As much as I think it was a right turn for them to kill Doyle off considering what it's done to Cordy's character... I still miss him sometimes, pretty pathetic considering he was only in nine eps huh?:)

Re: Official A Walk Down Memory Lane: Lonely Hearts thread -- Spike 'n Cordy, 14:43:07 03/06/02 Wed
This episode had it's ups and downs. the ups were the group interaction. I liked how Doyle asked Angel to talk him up to Cordy and how Angel didn't know him so well so he wouldn't have to lie.
Kate was boring. She was a strong blonde that was suppose to peak Angel's interest. Now I wasn't a die hard B/Aer but even I thought it was too soon to bring in a potential love interest. (Can't say the same for what happened on Buffy. The Parker guy.) Every episode where there was a potential love interest introduced, I didn't enjoy. (With the exception of 'Eternity' but I can't talk about that for a few weeks.)
Any way, some good group scenes and some boring Kate scenes.

Ah yes, forgot about that! I liked that Angel refused to talk Doyle up to Cordy. Simply for the fact that he didn't really know Doyle at the time, hence he didn't really trust him, and didn't really want Cordy getting involved with him. Hey, it's A/C subtext!
