Just watched At Close Range, Chris Walken, Sean Penn et al, and a film that is reminiscent of In Cold Blood. I read Capote's In Cold Blood in 1963 after being inspired by Breakfast at Tiffany's [now that's a contrapuntal thing to do].

There is something chilling about these things American.

We have similar cold thoughts when we go to certain places in Oz...how similar Americans are to Australians in so many ways...

Visit our Gold Coast and visit Miami, Palm Beach, Rodeo Drive, 5th Avenue [there are six thousand 5th Avenues] and innumerable numbers of American place names...
