It's the idea that it's impossible for him to undergo such changes without either losing the vamp or getting a soul that I find anti-Redemptionistic. So I *really* hope ME ain't going there.

No, wait, I forgot the reverse psychology of season 6. OK, I /do/ hope they're going there. I absolutely *demand* for them to go there. My life won't be complete UNLESS they go there.

And re: "a Spike story-line of his own" -- with only five episodes to go and all the loose ends that need wrapping up, along with everything else that's going to be happening? I think Spike'll be lucky if he gets ten minutes of screen time without Buffy or the SG crowding the frame with him, over the next three epis total.
