Who Needs Him Anyway

I know cupid is cross-eyed
As he always misses me
Tries aiming at my heart
Then he hit the nearest tree

He lacks the practical skill
Clearly I have that proof
I watched him last year
Firing arrows aross the roof

He needs a pair of glasses
Being as blind as a bat
One year I could recall
He began aiming at the cat

Missing the target so often
Flying straight past me
Eyesight is his problem
Obviously cupid cannot see

Some say that love is blind
Cupid was proof of that
Leaving holes in my roof
Then he injures my poor cat

My heart still remains intact
He can continue missing
Reminders I do not need
I know who I shall be kissing

Sending arrows to the heart
It did seem rather stupid
Who needs him anyway
Love is shared without cupid
