First site is a small ravine, first nugget found was by Hawkeye, a bit over 1/2 oz, late one Sunday afternoon. We returned for 3 hours the next Wednesday, and were rewarded with 3.5 oz's more, including one that went 3/4 oz. (Her again!) Cleaning up the loose gold in the ravine nabbed perhaps another pound. The adjacent hillside produced even more, I then discovered, and began hunting, the quartz ore vein that was enriching the site, farther uphill. I got several signals which, when hammered out of the vein contained 1.5 to 4 oz's of AU each. The biggest had 11 oz of crystalline; sold that for 15K. All told, 71 oz of the Most Happy Yellow Metal came from there. Second patch was found by a pal, surface AU was perhaps 50 oz, then we found the vein. Hammering that out produced another 56 oz. In yet another area, where the country rock is granite, covering perhaps 40 acres, there are literally miles of little 1/2" wide intrusive quartz ore veins, which, when detected, can produce little pockets of from 1/4 oz to 1 oz each. Still hunting that one. When hunting ore veins, use maximum gain, slow SAT, and dig those faint, but repeatable signals. Most will be AU. Hope this helps; HH Jim
