Actually you could probably swing a detector about any where in the area--- but reasonably.

Most of the natives are friendly and none are packing a gun but I once inadvertantly ran--- drove into--- into a "meth lab" and backed up my ol' 79 Ford real fast to avoid a shotgun; but other than that incident no problem.

I have been going into this broad area since 1962; first to drywash, and then to nuggetshoot.

Many of the posters, including me, detect this broad area, and one of us could probably be a seeing eye dog. Also, the varous clubs are holding outings in the broad area and are noted for being friendly to guests. As far as transportation a motor home can get you into most of the areas. When I go out I stay in the backend of a campershell.

Do you belong to the GPAA; get their magazine? Ridgecrest is just a few miles to the north and a small up and coming city with full service.

I'm sure you will get many posts re this request; mine will be just one of them.
