Plumber, I was hoping that you could not confirm that my ol ears are not as sharp as they once where. However, I'm impressed that you could hear the nickel at 12-inches through my headphones which were on my ears, and I couldn't hear it. You have great hearing and I think indirectly that this is also a good "plug" for the Garrett Infinium as to its capabilities, not only as A PI-type detector, but also as another choice from the VLF-types.

Remember the headphones are basic Garrett's and the Infinium is hooked up to the only presently available coil, the 10x14-inch DD.

I think I will figger a way to hook up a detector to one of those "Boom Boxes" and blast everyone into deafness.
