I don't think there is any arguement that for "conventional methods" of gold detecting, a conventional machine made specifically for that purpose is still the way to go, and that there are features that the multi-purpose machines generally don't have along those lines. The MXT is one of the very few exceptions.

This discussion all started over the possibilities of using the less conventional discrimination mode for gold hunting, and to date, only the MXT and X-5 have the sensitivity and depth capabilities in that mode to possibly change the way we nugget hunt. Maybe they will perform well in that function, maybe not...... time will tell. We'll just have to keep our fingers crossed, and hope for the best once they hit the goldfields.
