Subject: Goldmaster Hot Foot vs. Gold Foot

Here's a pic of the little Hot Foot coil by Jimmy Sierra, the one that Jim McCulloch mentioned in an earlier post. I used one of the earlier versions of this coil (the Gold Foot) several years ago, and this is one of the best designs I've ever seen for getting into tight places, under brush, between rocks, etc. The narrow footprint also helps considerably in highly mineralized areas since the narrower loops "see" alot less ground at any one point, kind of like a narrowed double-D design. Super sensitive to even the smallest nuggets too, as Jim can attest from all those "Mojave Midgets"..... (grin) This newer design is supposed to be even hotter than the original, though I haven't tried one out yet. I plan to give it a workover this year though as it may provide a very good "small coil" alternative to the standard Twin-D and GoldMax. Always regretted getting rid of the Gold Foot, and glad to see this one re-introduced and upgraded.

Ralph
