Well, I haven't used a very wide variety of detectors, and I am sure I haven't spent nearly as many years detecting or found as much gold as others here have. But I have managed to go through a few machines and find a bit of gold with each one of them (except the original Diablo):

1. Original Gold Bug
2. Minelab XT17000
3. GoldMaster II w/Sierra Gold Max coil
4. Tesoro Diablo Gold Demon
5. Tesoro Diablo Mmax

My favorite of these is my current machine, the Diablo Mmax. Reason is, it's very sensitive to small gold, the lightest detector I've owned (can go all day without wearing me out), very stable in difficult ground, and gold targets are easily distinguished from other small pieces of metal.

However, it would be great if I could incorporate into this little machine an autoground balance and PI technology. But until this happens (yeah, right) I'd love to try an SD2000 or 2100 with the 14" coiltek. Of course, I'd have to figure out where to get the money first. I though I'd had a chance of using one a long time ago when I asked John B. to let me use his cursed ML, but I guess he felt I would have ended up cursing him instead for letting me use it, hehe.
