I spent many years detecting for other items before I took up nugget hunting. I thought it would be so easy, with all the previous experience (coin hunting, etc.) ---hahahaha yeah right!

I could pan gold, drywash gold, dredge gold, but for the life of me I couldn't detect gold (when I first started).

For about a year I detected & dug what seemed like 1,000's of nails, lead, wire, etc. before I unearthed my "first nugget". Did anyone else have it as bad as this old hard head -- or -- did you stumble on your first one rather quickly?
