Rosie, if you have a newspaper you can write to, please DO IT! You know, before all this crap started again this year, I was remembering my kids' elementary school (and very Jewish) principal leading our Christmas carroling parade through the streets of our small city only a few years ago. It was bitter cold - about 2 degrees above zero...but we were stalwart soldiers marching the streets...all faiths just singing whatever Christmas songs we knew...secular and religious. It didn't matter. It was just the spirit of the holiday and we wanted everyone to feel it. A couple of months ago I thought about this and with the vision of the fun we had in my mind, I began to wonder if we did the same this year, we would have people opening their doors and yelling, telling us to get lost or shut up. What is happening is scary. The separation of church and state only ever had to do with no law shall be made making a religion the state. Our Founding Fathers never said we should not be religious or show our personal support thereof. All they ever meant was that no law would ever be created that made a religion the same as the government (as is Islam).
