Subject: Historical moments to remeber today... April 19th

Today is Saturday, April 19, 2003. It is a day of remembrance. For instance...

Eight years ago, a misguided fool by the name of Timothy McVeigh slaughtered hundreds of innocent victims in the bombing of the Muraugh Federal Building in Oklahoma City. McVeigh was later executed for his misdeeds.

Ten years ago, government agents murdered over one hundred people, including many women and children in a seige of the Branch Davidian compound at Waco, Texas on the orders of Janet Reno and William Jefferson Clinton. Reno kept her job, as did Clinton, though both are murderers on the order of McVeigh in my book.

A few years prior to these events, REBster was born. REBster is an infrequent visitor here these days thanks to a new marriage that promises to provide her with all the happiness and joy she so richly deserves. Her new husband is a lucky man. We wish her many more such days of celebrations and joyous birthday celebrations too.

Even prior to that, I was suspended at school for the fiftieth time of the school year ( a new school and personal record for me as well) as the result of yet another one of my practical jokes. I was later reinstated for the fiftieth time that year when it was once again determined that school officials did not have sufficient proof to impose the punishment on me. Obviously, none of us learned much from these exercises in futility and rascaldom.

And you thought it was just another day on the calendar.
