Subject: That's not what you asked. The board of directors is part of CLRG, AIDA and others countries are branches. eg Comm bank has a BOD, not each individual branch. Each branch runs itself but it answerable to the BOD. They can't...

just go off and start a new board and change how things run. I agree with you that it would be good to have more local control but CLRG is pretty restrictive and as we all know, keep everything to themselves and runs things how they see fit, which may not be in the best interests of the little people like us parents. But in the big scheme of things of worldwide Irish dance, AIDA is a "little people" too and I am sure we are mostly ignored by the big powerhouse that is CLRG and the big guns who have influence over them.
I have been involved in Irish dance as a parent for many many years now and even way back then, we were asking your question. There are many paretns who could help AIDA with things that are their profession, such as event organising, industry contacts etc but either can't or won't ask for help.
