Author: S'las - Beranth
Subject: -:- Flying Failure -:-

It's our turn now. S'las realized, blinking rapidly a few times. Beranth was standing up and S'las walked over to him. In the long wait, he had gotten off of the brown so as to be more comofortable while waiting for their turn on flying. Beranth held out a leg, and S'las half jumped, half scrambled back up to his position upon Beranth's neck. Beranth, highly excited, reared up, and S'las panicked - he had forgotten his helmet. Yelling in his mind for Beranth to stop, Beranth got back down, completely upon the ground, and S'las ran over to where he had been before, put his helmet on, fastening it securely, and then got back onto Beranth, who looked at S'las in amusment, eyes whirling around lightly, hued a bright green-blue.

- Are you ready now? Can I start? -

Beranth asked S'las. S'las opened his mouth, but nothing came out, so he just nodded. They could do this. Of course they could. Why couldn't they? Beranth reared up, and then jumped, his wings going down - only he hadn't jumped up high enough, either that or messed something up with his wings, and fell flat on his face, almost jolting S'las off of him completely, only the flying straps saving S'las. Beranth pulled himself to his feet, seemingly fine, though S'las could see the embarresment in Beranth's mind as Beranth immeaditely tried again. He reared up, leaping -- much higher this time -- wings coming down, and then going back up, as he raised into the air, suddenly finding himself flying. That was when he lost it again - he became to enthuasitic, trying to fly to fast and not controlling his flight enough. He came crashing to the ground again, hitting with a thump and throwing S'las off of him, S'las' head hit againest a rock with another thump and S'las was out cold. Beranth, though slightly skinned up in the front and on his legs, pulled himself up the best that he could, not doing to well of a job, and managed to scramble over to S'las in worry, tail lashing about, and he gave a bugle, expressing his worry and nervousness, not knowing if S'las was alive or dead in his mind's turmoil, some deep instinct not letting him go into the final between, keeping him here, on Pern...

{OOC: *shrug* Hey, two flights went okay, I had to have some fun and let one character mess up, right?}
