3-24-02 Coming Home

Around 2, we took Hannah home. her arm was in a cast, and she was in a wheelchair with a special brace to heal her broken ribs. When we got home, Jordan carried her in the house and laid her on the couch. All day, we sat with her, read her stories, or got her snacks. It went that way all week. A few weeks later, we were to go to the hospital to get the brace off.

3-30-02

Hannah continued to lie on the couch. For breakfast, I cooked scrambled eggs, pancakes, bacon, and orange juice, and brung Hannah to the table to eat with Jordan and I before he left for work. Afterr Jordan had given me and Hannah a kiss goodbye, I laid Hannah back on the couch and went to run a bath for her. I started the water in our jacuzzi and went downstairs. Hannah called for me.
"Momma, I need da potty."
I rushed her to the bathroom just in time. Her first time going on the 'big girl' potty. I was proud, as weird as it seems. I carried her back to the couch when I remembered the bath. I rushed upstairs to see the bathrrom floor covered in water! I waded into the bathroom and shut off the water, and got out the mop when I heard Hannah call.
"Momma!" she wailed. "Where is Laymie?" Laymie is her favorite doll she's had since she was a baby.
"Right here, sweetie," I say, pulling my head out of the closet with Laymie in my arms.
I deliver her to Hannah and she snuggles up with her and goes to sleep.
I walk up the stairs, along with Jack, and climb into the jacuzzi after undressing. I slip down into the warm water and drift off.
I'm snapped out of my fantasy world when Hannah's screams pierce my thoughts. I jump out of the bathroom and fly down the stairs, not even realizing I hadn't grabbed a towel. A very startled Jordan stands in the doorway, as he came home for lunch. He had surprised Hannah and she had screamed, as I was informed later, after scuttling up the stairs and getting my bathrobe on.
For lunch, we all had the McDonald's Jordan had brought home. He stayed and read to Hannah for an hour. Then he went back to the University to finish some paperwork.
I cleaned up lunch and went to clean up the mess I made in the bathroom. I finished and went downstairs to check on Hannah and relax. I walked down the carpeted stairs and relaxed in our Laz-E-Boy recliner for a noon nap.

Love,
Holly

I woke up a few hours later, and Jordan had come home and was sleeping on our other couch. Hannah was also asleep. I got up quietly and tiptoed out on the porch. I sat on a bench on the patio and let the warm sun wash over me. I sat there for awhile, thinking about the baby, and what it would be like having another kid in the house. I was very excited. I was hoping it would be a boy. I had talked with Jordan earlier, and he decided on the boy name. It will be Jared Micah. I told him my name choice, and he liked that. In a few months, we were going to get the first ultrasound. We will find out the gender of the baby. I woke up and started into the house. I went to clean up Hannah's room and finished. I then moved on to me and Jordan's room. I then went downstairs again and relaxed in the Laz-E-Boy. A few hours later, I was startled by something and cracked my eyelids. Jordan and Hannah were on the floor, playing games. Hannah was propped up against some pillows, as much as I could see of her, and was having a grand time. Jordan, seeing I was awake, gently whispered,
"Holly, go back to sleep."
I gladly did.
More later... z.z.z.z.z

PS: Hannah also got her brace off today :0)

Love,
Holly
